About Us

Alex Agostini, Marriage and Family Therapist

I am currently accepting new clients in person and digitally.

I have over half a decade of experience and over one-thousand hours of therapeutic training and am now operating out of my private practice Wellness Counseling in Farmington in view of the beautiful Farmington River.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in environmental studies at Keene State University before earning my graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT).  I have also studied under my mentor and close friend Nancy Martin LMFT who has been a guiding light in my education and my life’s journey.

My MFT education and training allows me to pursue my passion in helping others overcome anxiety, depression, and psychological conflict using my unique insights and natural compassion for others enduring mental strife.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy

Certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (an evidence-based eye movement therapy similar to EMDR) I frequently use this technique to help people resolve issues and become unstuck in 1-5 sessions.  The feedback people give about this therapy is astounding.

Internal Family Systems

A new innovative therapy approach that tackles a client’s inner struggles with insight and curiosity.  Fostering better understanding and less extreme emotional responses, this therapy revolutionizes how clients view their inner self and the parts that make up the colorful tapestry of their being.

Bettering the Lives of People with ASD

Diagnosed with high functioning ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) as a child, I overcame many of the obstacles that came with the diagnosis. This has inspired me to focus my interventions specifically for clients who are also on the spectrum, as well as their spouses, partners and families.  In addition, I see individuals, couples and families who are neurotypical (not on the spectrum) experiencing anxiety, depression and communications issues.

My goals are to promote empowerment for ASD clients, educate and help non-disabled persons understand the condition better, and promote social change that will better the lives of people with ASD, their families and society.

“You need not tackle the problem on your own.  At Wellness Counseling we are committed to improving the lives of our clients and their relatives.”
